I hate that a sexual fantasy movie has ruined the phrase “shades of grey”.

But consider modern times - “Brown vs BOE” is not valuable if no one wants it.

Comfortable but Ineffective Approach

Evangelicals, like myself, have often felt that standing up to segragation was not effective for a litanty of reasons. Instead, in a Jim Crow South, evangelicals would often ensure the individuals that they dealt with were treated fairly; they turned their head at the idea that segration was changeable and in effect - they ensure that it would be unchanged.

Brief History Lesson
